We’re totally confused.

What is it with resturants in the great city of Pittsfield Massachusetts?

We have our old standby’s, sure, and they’re old standby’s because we can STAND BY THEM.  But honestly, the nutrition meter in our bodies are telling us to mix it up a bit.  You can’t have that same tuna salad every day, for weeks on end.  That’s mercury posioning anyway, isn’t it?  I’m getting off point.

So, we were SO excited to try this super great Mexican place today – we’ve tried it before, it worked before!  And their food is great!  Everyone was excited!

Paul ordered: Tres Salsa Enchiladas

Jenny: Tacos de Pollo Please (how sweet – she wrote please!!)

This is no small order, people. We’re talkin’ $48 or $50-something anyway.  AND tip!

But they didn’t answer their friggin phone at 11.

Nor did they answer it at 11:15, or 11:30, or 11:32, 11:41 (you get the picture).  The natives were getting restless.

Fine.

Let’s go somewhere else – and quick.  Pizza for all.  Fine! 

Won’t be here at noon on the dot (and I gotta tell you, noon is when food is delivered here at Blue Q – we get in at 8:30 a.m.  We eat at noon.  Enough said).

Next time we’re going to Teo’s.  No phone orders, no credit cards, no delivery.  Just great little hot dogs.  Something you can believe in.

Blue Q has a lunch program.  You pay a certain amount every week (or daily) and then you can order off any of our lunch menus  – soup, sandwich, salad, you name it. 

But you know.  You work at one place long enough (many of us have been here upwards of 6, 7, 8, 10+ years), in a town small enough (like Pittsfield), and you’ve probably eaten from That’s a Wrap 104 times.

So we try new places.  And there’s this one place (that shall remain nameless because we do still like YOU), and it’s new (and we LOVE supporting local businesses, trust me!), but they never have what’s on their menu.  And they have a small menu.  And we’re ordering there today.  And we love their bread.  But they say they have chicken salad, and they never do.  No biggie I guess, except that 5 people ordered it.  And no chili.  Again, no real biggie (I mean, there IS a war going on in Afghanistan) but, 2 of us ordered that.  No soup either.

So we had to reorder.

They can’t screw up ham and cheese can they?  Don’t answer that. 

But in the meantime, we came up with a new menu for them that we think they might be able to follow quite easily (and yes, this has been made possible by Sergio – if you couldn’t tell.  And Sergio never orders.  His wife makes him lunch.).

ORDER BY NUMBER!

1. Mustard in a cup.

2. Mustard between two slices of HOMEMADE bread!

3. Bread.

4. 1 slice of bread and an empty soup cup (soup extra)

5. Tunafish on a roll.

6. Tunafish on a roll with no mayo.

7. Mayo on a roll – no tunafish.

8. A roll.

9. Nothing (but something coming soon)!

Remember how poor Jenny had a 10th Anniversary at Blue Q surprise party?

But then she called in sick?

Well, we finally made it up to her.  Today.  It’s snowing.  Like white out snowing.  So it was pretty darn cozy in here.  All the love…can’t you just FEEL it?

Falafel, hummus, salad that had like…..pistachios?….oh my god, I now love pistachios in my salad and then that little pita number on the bottom left is pita that was broiled with toasted walnuts, sherry, tabasco and cheddar.

Congratulations again, Jenny.  10 years.  1 company.  That’s pretty damn amazing.  And Blue Q has like 6 employees who can claim that prize.

Crap.  It really is snowing out there.  I wonder how much wine is left over….
